Ordering & acceptance

When you place an order, you’re making an offer to buy. We confirm by email once payment is processed, and your order is accepted when it ships. We may decline or cancel an order — for example, if an item is out of stock, a price was listed in error, or we suspect fraud — and we’ll refund you in full if we do.

Pricing & payment

• Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time, but changes won’t affect orders we’ve already accepted.
• Applicable sales tax and shipping are shown at checkout before you pay.
• Payment is processed securely through Shopify. By paying, you confirm you’re authorized to use the payment method.
• If an item’s price is obviously wrong (a typo), we may cancel and refund rather than honor the error.

Handmade products

Our candles are hand-poured in small batches with coconut apricot wax. Because each is made by hand, slight variations in color, texture, and scent strength are normal and part of the character — not defects. Screen colors may also differ a little from the candle in your hands.

Candle safety

Burning a candle carries inherent risk. By using our products you agree to follow safe-use guidance: never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from anything flammable and out of reach of children and pets, burn on a heat-resistant surface, trim the wick to ¼″ before each light, and stop burning when about ½″ of wax remains. You’re responsible for using our candles safely.

Shipping

We ship within the timeframes noted at checkout. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier takes the package. Delivery dates are estimates and aren’t guaranteed; if an order arrives damaged, our guarantee has you covered.

Intellectual property

The Rooted Candle Co. name, logo, scent names, photography, and site content are owned by Rooted Candle Co. LLC and may not be copied or used without our written permission. If you post a review or photo, you grant us permission to display and share it in connection with our products.

Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse the site — no attempting to disrupt it, access it without authorization, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The site and our products are provided “as is” to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don’t guarantee the site will always be available or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Some states don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you — and nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and your continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.
